AztecaTaqueria

When working for a daily publication, it's easy to allow the high volume and tight deadlines to erode the creativity of the design work being produced. It doesn't help that clients are often satisfied with generic solutions.

I saw an opportunity to leverage the frequency with which Azteca advertised to strengthen the recognizability of the brand through cohesive design and to bring its voice and personality to the forefront using unconventional imagery and type treatments.

Azteca Taqueria had been running ads for discounts, specials, and happy hours nearly every day. The designs were attractive, but they did little to convey the social, youthful atmosphere that set the restaurant apart from its more traditional competitors.
