Be Local Steamboat
While a significant portion of the population of Steamboat Springs is seasonal, the notion of being considered a local holds a special appeal for people.
There’s certainly no consensus as to what being a local means. Some would say you're only a local after you’ve called the valley home for many years. Some say you're a local after you survive your first winter. Regardless, it’s a special place, and people want to feel like they belong.
The Steamboat Pilot & Today had been around almost as long as the town itself. What better way to keep up with local affairs? That was the idea behind this campaign: to associate the idea of reading the local paper with being a local, whether you live in Steamboat or not.
